Classic Days Schloss Dyck 2011

The Classic Days took place for the sixth time at Schloss Dyck on the first weekend in August. A total of almost 6,000 classic and modern classic cars made their way to Jüchen this year. According to initial estimates, the number of visitors is estimated at over 10,000, who came to watch the spectacle of powerful pre-war cars and racing cars from the 1950s and 1960s.

What makes the Classic Days so special is the beautiful setting of the castle and the keen interest shown by visitors. One highlight was the ride in the 1886 Benz Patent Motor Car. It was driven by Jutta Benz, great-granddaughter of Bertha Benz, who made the first long-distance trip to Pforzheim in this car. Mercedes had brought several vehicles from its museum to mark the 125th anniversary of the automobile.

This year, we participated with a 1934 Lagonda M45 T7. The Classic Days are divided into different classes. In the Racing Legends regularity competition, Moritz Richter won in an NSU, ahead of Diethelm Horbach in a Ferrari and Oliver Steinmetz in a Steinmetz Opel. We finished in 49th place. In addition to the Racing Legends, there was also the “Concours d’Elegance” and the “Jewels in the Park.”
