Concorso d´Eleganza Villa d´Este 2014

The Mercedes-Benz 500 K Cabriolet A caused a sensation at the 2014 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este

Winfried Ritter and Bernhard Kerkloh competed in this year’s Concorso d’Eleganza at Villa D’Este with the number 22. They brought along a 1935 Mercedes-Benz 500 K Convertible A.

For three days, the grounds of Villa d’Este and neighboring Villa Erba on the shores of Lake Como provided a magnificent backdrop for the traditional and exclusive exhibition of historic cars and motorcycles. With spectacular parades of the competition vehicles and a variety of special exhibitions, the focus was once again on the elegance and aesthetics of classic vehicles, as well as particularly significant aspects of design and technological development. Once again, the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este became an exclusive stage for rare two- and four-wheeled vehicles that fascinated visitors not only with their immaculate condition but also with their interesting history. In warm summer temperatures, thousands of visitors watched both the Concorso di Motociclette and the parade of historic automobiles in competition on Saturday and Sunday, creating an atmospheric setting for the participants’ contest for the favor of the jury and the audience.

This year, the jury awarded the “Best of Show” prize associated with the Trofeo BMW Group to the 1956 Maserati 450 S. The winner of the public vote and thus the winner of the Coppa d’Oro Villa d’Este was the 1931 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 GS. In the “Concept Cars and Prototypes” category, the Maserati “Alfieri” was awarded the Concorso d’Eleganza Design Award.
