AVD Oldtimer Grand Prix 2014

Nürburgring 2014: The historic racing cars that provided entertainment at the 42nd AvD Oldtimer Grand Prix on the second weekend in August can certainly not be considered “old iron.”

The mixed weather made driving their historic racing cars a balancing act par excellence for many drivers.

On Friday afternoon, I set off from the Classic Remise Düsseldorf in 29-degree heat and headed for the Eifel region. When I arrived an hour later, the temperature had dropped to 19 degrees and it was raining so heavily that the 4-hour race even had to be interrupted.
