Vento Movendi

Dino, Osca, Stratos, Superfast… these were the names of the participants in the first “Vento Movendi” classic car tour. Twenty beautiful cars, drivers, and co-drivers met at Café de Frites on the German-Belgian border to fortify themselves with fries and champagne before setting off on their journey to the Ardennes. After another culinary stop in Stavelot, a beautiful and winding route took us to Kasteel Altembrouck in Belgium. Here, the vehicles had a wonderful place to stay. The drivers and passengers were treated to a delicious barbecue dinner. The next day, the participants were surprised with a visit to MEC Auto in Baelen, where historic racing cars are prepared. We were amazed when brothers Mike and Stefan Kupka presented us with a dozen racing cars, including a Porsche 917, a Porsche 962, and a Formula 1 car from Jack Laffitte. The grand finale of the first “Vento Movendi” classic car tour took place at the Kommern open-air museum, surrounded by medieval cottages and barns where homemade Eifel bread is sold. It was an all-around successful tour, during which we didn’t even notice that summer had temporarily taken a break.

Daniel and I would like to thank all participants for the wonderful weekend.

Special thanks go to Jens and Katja Fischer, who got a broken-down Porsche back on the road and provided us with delicious ice cream sundaes and espresso during our stop at the MEC Auto workshop with their fantastic VW T1 ice cream truck.
