ICONS Mallorca: A gem of automotive culture on the sunny island

Best of Show for our Iso Grifo Prototipo

Last week Mallorca shone in the splendor of classic cars as the first 6-day Classic Car Rally and International Concours d’Elegance took place under the name ICONS Mallorca. This extraordinary event brought together not only passionate car enthusiasts, but also some of the most beautiful and significant vehicles ever built.

The rally offered an exciting range of themes that would make any car lover’s heart beat faster. With the “La Vitesse” for ladies only, the nostalgic “Rally on Tour” with vehicles built between 1925 and 1984 and the exciting “Extravaganza” with supercars and hypercars, participants experienced unforgettable moments on the picturesque roads of the island. Movendi was on the road with an original Meyers Manx in the Beach Car class.

In glorious sunshine, the tour took in breathtaking locations such as Port d’Andratx, Puerto Portals, Port Adriano and the port of Palma. The legendary serpentine road Sa Calobra, which is not only one of the most beautiful in Mallorca but also in the whole of Europe, was particularly impressive. The rally also took the participants to Castell Miquel, where they were able to admire the monumental sculpture by Tony Cragg – a perfect place to combine the beauty of art and automotive culture. Another highlight was the visit to Christian Völkers, who organized a polo match for us on his estate during the lunch break.

The evening events were equally spectacular and took place in stylish locations such as the LEL Superyacht, the historic Castell Bellver and the elegant Hotel Castell Son Vida. Here, the participants had the opportunity to exchange ideas in a luxurious setting and reflect on the day’s experiences.

A real highlight of the week was the international Concours d’Élégance, which took place at the picturesque Son Vida Golf Club. Unique vehicles were presented in seven different classes, celebrating the heritage of automotive history. Movendi is particularly proud to have achieved overall victory (Best Of Show Post War) with the Iso Grifo pre-production vehicle and 3rd place in its class with the Pegaso Z 102 – an accolade that reflects the passion and dedication of our team.

The many fascinating photos taken during this unique event document the excitement and glamor of ICONS Mallorca. We are convinced that this event will become a permanent fixture in the annual classic car event calendar and look forward to the coming years full of new highlights and unforgettable experiences!
