“The K3 Magnette is regarded in the history books as the most famous and successful of all record-breaking MGs. With only 33 examples produced between 1933 and 1934, this car gave the brand an incredible boost and firmly established MG at the forefront of global motorsports and record-breaking.” – Richard Monk, The MG Collection.
Over the years, numerous replicas of the K3 have been produced. The example offered here comes from the late Peter Gregory, a renowned expert in this highly specialized field, from whom it was acquired in April 1999. Since its completion, the MG has seen very little use. The vehicle is, of course, equipped with a supercharger. Other noteworthy features include an ENV pre‑selector gearbox, twin aero windscreens, dashboard‑mounted Kigas units, André shock absorbers, a leather bonnet strap, and a driver’s‑side mounted spare wheel. The interior is lined with black leather, while a Jaeger tachometer dominates the dashboard alongside the standard instrument cluster. The vehicle sits on four chrome-plated spoke wheels secured with knock-off spinners. Two fuel caps are located on the trunk lid.
