This was the Countach\u2019s first model update in four years, following a series of incremental improvements since the production version\u2019s introduction in 1974.<br \/>\nThe 5000S was originally called the 500S, but this new designation was somewhat misleading, as the new engine had a displacement of only 4,754 cm\u00b3. Its power output was 50 bhp higher than that of the previous 4-liter engine.<br \/>\nSome later models featured a new rear end with an extended trailing edge, making the vehicle about one inch longer.
